Tuesday, 30 June 2009 04:51

alyse-playerAlyse Player might not be as big as any other singer that has ventured into the gates of Rockingham Speedway, but her voice is just as big.

The 11-year-old will sing the National Anthem for this weekend’s Cheerwine Cherry Bomb 200 on the United States of America’s 233rd birthday.

“I am very honored to have the opportunity to sing at the race track that Rockingham is famous for,” said Player. "What a thrill to sing in the place where legends battled and where new legends are being made.”

“We are so pleased to have Alyse performing the National Anthem at the Cherry Bomb 200 on July 4th,” stated track president Andy Hillenburg. “She is such an amazing talent and we are fortunate to have her here to help us honor our country and those who have sacrificed for it on Independence Day.”

Tickets are still obtainable, and can be purchased by calling 910-205-8800 or by visiting www.rockinghamspeedway.com.
