regan-smithRegan Smith, driver of the Furniture Row No. 78, posted his best finish of 2009 in Saturday night's Coke Zero 400 NASCAR Sprint Cup race at the Daytona International Speedway, placing a respectable 12th after starting 43rd. Smith also extended his running - at - the - finish streak to 51 straight races.

"It was a good result, but we really wanted a top-10 and nearly did it," Smith said after the race. "At the end, I was right up there and it was a lot of fun. The pit stops were excellent, especially the last one. On the final run, I got boxed in and lost some track position," added Smith. "Tonight's performance was a big morale boost for the entire Furniture Row Racing organization."

The Coke Zero 400 marked race number 10 of the 2009 season for Smith and the Furniture Row Racing team, who currently compete on a part time basis from their Denver, Colorado shop. The team plans to compete in a total of 13 events this year.

jay-guyFurniture Row Racing crew chief Jay Guy also hoped for a better finish.

"It was a decent run, but we sure had our hopes a lot higher," stated Guy. "We had a really good car tonight, but through nobody's fault we got in the wrong line on the final run. Regan did another great job - he's a smart driver. We'll take the 12th-place finish and move on."

Regan Smith and the Furniture Row Racing team's next race will be the Allstate 400 on Sunday, July 26 at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
