Exiting his car with a smile capable of lighting up the nighttime sky at Daytona International Speedway, Marcos Ambrose had reason to beam.
Crossing the finish line in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Coke Zero 400 powered by Coca-Cola in the sixth position, Ambrose’s finish seemed to seemed be the perfect remedy for the cold he had been battling all weekend. “I was sick again this weekend and had to have an IV treatment, but this is one way to clear up a severe cold,” Ambrose said. “This finish makes me feel 100 percent better. It was just a great night for us. We fought hard all day.”
Keeping his No. 47 Toyota out of trouble during the last lap mayhem, Ambrose exited the smoke to collect his fifth top-10 result of the season.
Holding his spot in the 18th spot in the 2009 series point standings, Ambrose is thrilled about the direction that the No. 47 team is headed and looks forward to continuing the success for the rest of the 2009 season. “There was a lot of action on the track and it was intense,” Ambrose noted. “It was just another amazing night for us and I want to thank Jodi and Tad (Geschickter), Brad Daugherty and my Kingsford® Charcoal team for believing in me. It’s been a great ride so far and I’m looking forward to the rest of the season.” MORE NASCAR NEWS
