Effective on August 10, 2009 Joie Chitwood III will join International Speedway Corporation (ISC) as the Vice President of Business Operations.
Chitwood will keep an eye on business execution for all 13 of ISC’s racetracks, and lead the company’s strategy development. The 40 year old will report to ISC Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, Roger VanDerSnick. Before jumping on board with ISC, Chitwood most recently played the role of President and COO of Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
“Joie possesses a wealth of experience in the motorsports industry and we are thrilled to have someone of his caliber join our executive team,” VanDerSnick stated. “He’s a proven leader and has demonstrated his ability to execute on various major projects, including the development of Chicagoland Speedway. I also look forward to Grant’s continued contributions to our business in his new role as Chairman of Talladega and VP, ISC Strategic Projects. His leadership and insight continue to be valuable assets within the Company and will combine well with Joie’s talents.” 
In addition to the promotion of Chitwood III, ISC announced W. Grant Lynch Jr. to become the Chairman of Talladega Superspeedway and Vice President, ISC Strategic Projects. MORE NASCAR NEWS
