Originally scheduled to begin at 10:10am EST, the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series qualifying was postponed due to rain. NASCAR hoped to get things rolling at the Brickyard by 11:35am EST, but the wet race track still remains unsafe for the competitors to drive on.

Should qualifying be cancelled the starting field will be set according to owner's points, putting Tony Stewart on the pole.

In addition to the qualifying delay, both Cup Series practices have been bumped back to 3pm and 4:30pm EST.
