jeff-gordonFour - time NASCAR Sprint Cup Series champion Jeff Gordon hosted the eighth annual Gordon's Celebrity Bowl while in Indianapoils last week, raising $250,000 for Riley Hospital for Children. Prior to the event Gordon spent time with patients and their families at the Riley Hospital for Children Cancer Center.

“We are very excited to have raised $1.5 million in support of Riley Hospital for Children during this event's eight-year history," said Gordon, who grew up in Pittsboro, Indiana. “Funds raised from this year’s tournament will support their ongoing research for pediatric cancer.”

The invitation only event featured celebrities including Indianapolis Mayor Greg Ballard, Sam Hornish, Jr., Greg Biffle, Kasey Kahne, Kurt Busch, Ron Hunter and Riley Hospital for Children patients and physicians. Team members bowled three games – each with a different celebrity – and had their team photo taken with Gordon.

“Jeff Gordon is truly passionate about his commitment to children. He shows that commitment through his financial support of Riley Hospital. But, as importantly, he demonstrates it in the time and attention he gives to Riley patients and to all children,” said Kevin O’Keefe, president and CEO of Riley Children’s Foundation. “Jeff’s support comes from the heart, as does our gratitude.”
