Reed Sorenson will drive the #43 Richard Petty Motorsports Dodge in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race at Watkins Glen International on Sunday, according to a statement released by the team.

Sorenson has been suffering from the effects of carbon monoxide he inhaled in the Pennsylvania 500 at Pocono on Monday. The team was uncertain if the Peachtree City, Georgia driver would be able to complete Sunday's race and retained Jacques Villeneuve as a substitute driver for the #43.

The statement released by Richard Petty Motorsports indicates Sorenson has recovered and will be fit to run the full distance.

RPM thanked Villeneuve for his assistance. "Owners George and Foster Gillett along with the Richard Petty Motorsports team appreciate Villeneuve's willingness to help out on such short notice."
