The NASCAR Camping World Truck Series is headed to Bristol, TN for the 15th race in the series’ 25 race schedule.
Ron Hornaday is going for 6 consecutive series victories and 50 career NASCAR wins. With his most recent win at Nashville Superspeedway two weeks ago, Hornaday got his 49th career win in the top-three NASCAR series. His boss, Kevin Harvick, only has 48 wins.
At Bristol, Hornaday is currently the only two-time winner in the Camping World Truck Series. “The main thing at Bristol is to keep your eyes open at all times and be very aware of what is happening around you,” Hornaday said. “Having a good spotter at Bristol makes all the difference. Rick Carelli (my spotter) and I have worked together for many years and I’m confident he is watching every move that each truck is making, he keeps me pretty well informed.” Another driver looking for a win at Bristol Motor Speedway is Todd Bodine. Bodine has two NASCAR Nationwide Series victories at the .533-mile track but has never made it to Victory Lane in a truck; he has finished 2nd in three of the four Truck races he has run there. “Bristol suits my style,” Bodine said. “You have to be on top of the wheel every lap and have patience at the same time. You have to bide your time. I’m looking forward to Wednesday night.” Bodine’s crew chief, Mike Hillman Jr., is confident that his driver has what it takes to finally get a win at BMS. “We have always been strong at Bristol,” he said. “I expect nothing less of the No. 30 Ventrilo Tundra on Wednesday night…Todd Bodine has a unique understanding of Bristol Motor Speedway.” The NASCAR Camping World Truck Series O’Reilly 200 presented by Valvoline is scheduled to air on Speed at 8pm ET tonight.
