When Brian Vickers made the move from the dominate stables of Hendrick Motorsports to the brand new Red Bull Racing it was a questionable decision.

When he failed to qualify for 13 races in 2007, no one was surprised.

But, when he made it to Victory Lane at Michigan last week, it was apparent that Vickers is clairvoyant; he obviously saw a bright future at Red Bull Racing when everyone else was not so sure.

This season, Vickers and his No. 83 Red Bull team have racked up seven top-10’s, four top-5’s, one win and six poles.

That record was good enough for Red Bull to re-sign him to a multi-year contract, yesterday.

"Brian has been here from the beginning and he continues to be a vital piece of the puzzle with regards to our ultimate goal of building Red Bull Racing into a consistent contender,” Jay Frye, vice president and general manager of Red Bull Racing, said.

Currently Vickers is 13th place in the point standings, only 12 points out of Chase contention, proving that the team has what it takes to be competitive despite being so young.

“There is no where else I would rather be,” Vickers said. “I am looking forward to building on what we have started the last couple of years… It is an interesting experience being with a team from the ground up -- going through the growing pains, then successes, together. I am so proud to have been able to bring this team their first win."

Now that Red Bull Racing has earned their first victory with Vickers, the team obviously has their sights set on a spot in the Chase for the Sprint Cup. They have three races to make it into the top-12 and if any team can do it, they certainly can.
