Six NASCAR Sprint Cup Series drivers will participate in two Speedway Children’s Charities events at Atlanta Motor Speedway over the race weekend in early September.
Gillett Evernham drivers Kasey Kahne, Reed Sorenson and Elliott Sadler will be participating in either the Reed Sorenson Charity Golf Tournament on September 4th or the SCC Track Walk on September 6th, alongside fellow drivers Joey Logano, Juan Pablo Montoya and David Ragan.
Robbie Loomis, Executive Director of Racing Operations for Richard Petty Motorsports, and Dr. James Dobson, founder and Chairman Emeritus of Focus on the Family will be on hand for the events, as well as television personalities Rutledge Wood, Larry McReynolds and Bob Dillner.  The Reed Sorenson Charity Golf Tournament will take place at Eagle’s Landing Country Club in Stockbridge, GA. Registration will open at 8am and the Tournament will begin at 10am. Entry for individual players starts at $250.00 and foursomes begin at $800.00. Following the event will be a rewards reception, silent auction, dinner and entertainment. The SCC Track Walk will allow fans to walk on the racing surface of Atlanta Motor Speedway beginning at 11am. Hardcore race fans can pre-register online for $25 at www.speedwaycharities.org through Aug. 28. Trackside registration will be available on Sat., Sept. 5 from 9:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m. and on Sun., Sept 6 from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. and costs $35.
