Three-time NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Champion and Southern California native Jimmie Johnson will be inducted into the Auto Club Speedway Walk of Fame on Saturday, October 10th in Fontana, CA.
11 other NASCAR Sprint Cup Series drivers have received the honor in the past, including Jeff Gordon, Rusty Wallace, Mark Martin and Jeremy Mayfield. Hardcore race fans are invited to attend the ceremony located at Gate 12. Johnson’s signature, footprint and a plaque will be preserved in the concrete on the Walk of Fame.
Johnson will also receive a surfboard custom-made by Ohana Kemp Surfboards to commemorate his induction. Johnson currently has three victories at Auto Club Speedway, including two back-to-back victories in ’07 and ’08, making him only one of three drivers to have three wins; Johnson’s teammate Jeff Gordon and Matt Kenseth are the other two and both have already been inducted into the Walk of Fame.
