ross-kensethNASCAR Sprint Cup Series Driver Matt Kenseth will race against his son Ross for the first time this weekend at Madison International Speedway (MIS) in Oregon, WI.

Since the Sprint Cup Series has an off-weekend this weekend, it has given Kenseth the opportunity to spend valuable on-track time with his 16-year old son.

“I am looking forward to racing against Ross and racing in a limited late model at Madison,” said Kenseth. “I’ve never run that type of car out there. I have watched many limited late model races since Ross has started and they are very competitive. It’s a great series with a lot of great drivers and I’m interested to race against them. I’m sure it will be a lot of fun and a great learning experience.”

The 2003 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Champion may have big-time experience, but his son certainly knows how to win at Madison. Ross is currently the Big 8 Late Models points leader and he has already scored two victories at MIS this year.

The race will be twin 50-lap features on Saturday August 29th. According to the track website, tickets are $15 for adults, $5 for children ages 6 – 11 and kids 5 and under are free. Racing is scheduled to begin at 7pm local time.
