Chevrolet, along with Hendrick Motorsports and the CMA will honor a selected serviceman or woman and their family with a trip to the 43rd Annual CMA Awards on November 11th.
Family and friends of service members are encouraged to go online to www.youreverydayhero.com to submit a video or written essay about that person’s story. They are looking for extraordinary American heroes who served their country, demonstrated the military spirit, inspired others and positively impacted their community.
“Anchored by our naturally strong partnerships with NASCAR and the CMA, we have created a very sincere promotion that honors America’s Heroes, with the partnership of America’s music and America’s most watched sport,” Kim Kosak, Chevrolet General Director, Advertising and Sales Promotion, said. In early October, five finalists will be selected from the submissions and those finalists will be voted on publicly. People who vote online for the finalists will be entered in a sweepstakes for a chance to win a trip for two to a 2010 NASCAR race. Dale Earnhardt Jr. and Jeff Gordon are also involved in this promotion. “As the driver of the No. 88 AMP Energy/National Guard Chevy, I've had the opportunity to meet many of the military heroes risking their lives every day to protect our freedom,” Earnhardt said. “It's an honor for me to participate in this program. I think this is an awesome way to pay tribute to those men and women. Everyone who has a story to tell about a member of the military should log on to www.youreverydayhero.com and tell us your story.” The CMA Awards will broadcast live on ABC on November 11th, 2009 at 8pm ET.
