2010 NASCAR Schedules Announced
Tuesday, 15 September 2009 10:58

daytonaNASCAR has released the 2010 schedules for the Sprint Cup Series, the Nationwide Series and the Camping World Truck Series.

There are some changes to each of the three series schedules, however, each of the three series will maintain the number of races they ran this year with 36 races on the Cup schedule (plus the two non-point events), 35 on the Nationwide schedule and 25 on the Truck schedule.

Daytona Speedweeks will begin a day earlier than this year with the Bud Shootout scheduled to be run on February 6th, 2010 and qualifying will be held the same day as the Shootout rather than the day after as it has been in the past.

Texas and Phoenix have swapped their April race dates; Phoenix will now be before Texas on April 10th.

The first Dover race will be run prior to the race weeks in Charlotte in May; it was run the week after the Coca-Cola 600 this year.

The Nationwide Series has swapped a few dates including a stop in Texas before Nashville and Phoenix when it normally goes to Texas after those two races and the first Dover race will moved to the middle of May and will be run in companion with the Cup race there.

The Truck Series will see the most changes out of the three. The Kansas race has been moved to a week later than this year, they will also race in Dover with Cup and Nationwide in early May, the races at Iowa and Gateway will be moved to July rather than September, Nashville’s date will be a week later in August and the race at Kentucky has moved from July to September.

Also, the trucks will be making their first ever appearance at Pocono on July 31st. That is the only track addition to any of the schedules.
