Jarit Johnson, the brother of defending NASCAR Sprint Cup Series champion Jimmie Johnson, is on the entry list for Saturday’s NASCAR Nationwide Series Dover 200.
According to the list, Johnson will be running the No. 07 Chevy for team owner Armando Fitz this weekend. No sponsor is listed yet. In addition to Johnson, some other notables planning to head to Dover include NASCAR Sprint Cup Series regulars Kyle Busch, Denny Hamlin, Scott Speed and Ryan Newman.
"Dover has always been one of my favorite racetracks. I've been very fortunate to have a lot of success at Dover over the years. It's a physically demanding track, so by the end of the day you have had quite a work out,” Newman said. “For me, Dover is a really fun track to drive, but there's a reason it's called 'The Monster Mile.' The track is really unique – you drop off into the corners and then climb up the hills onto the straight-a-ways. Because of that, the entry into the corners is the toughest part. If you don't get a good entry, you're not going to have a good middle or a good exit.” Martin Truex Jr. is also scheduled to pull double-duty at what he considers his home track. Like Johnson, his little brother Ryan will also be making his debut at the Monster Mile this weekend in the NASCAR Camping World East Series. Another Sprint Cup regular, Reed Sorenson, will be racing in both Nationwide and Cup events this weekend. Sorenson, who recently learned that he will not be returning to his Richard Petty Motorsports ride in the Cup Series next year, is scheduled to run the No.l0 Toyota for Braun Racing with AccuDoc Solutions on the hood. "Our association with Braun Racing, NASCAR, and Toyota presents a unique opportunity to increase our brand name awareness within the marketplace," AccuDoc Solutions President, Harry Scott, Jr., said. As the series heads to the “Monster Mile”, Kyle Busch leads the series point standings by 201 points over fellow Cup regular Carl Edwards. Brad Keselowski is in 3rd, followed by Jason Leffler and rookie Justin Allgaier. The Dover 200 is scheduled to broadcast on ESPN2 at 3pm tomorrow. MORE NASCAR NEWS
