The second annual Jail & Bail charity event has been announced for October 14th at Brickhouse Tavern in Davidson, N.C.
The event will once again benefit the Brienne Davis Scholarship Fund at The NASCAR Foundation. Davis was a NASCAR Sprint Cup Series official who graduated from the Universal Technical Institute (UTI); she was tragically killed following a motor vehicle accident last year at the age of 28. The scholarship in her name provides an opportunity for a qualified female student to attend any one of the 12 UTI campuses across the country.
So far, 16 NASCAR personalities have agreed to participate in the event in which they will be “locked up” and required to raise money for their bail, which will go to the scholarship fund. Kurt Busch, Kevin Harvick, Juan Pablo Montoya, David Stremme, Wendy Venturini, John Darby, Casey Mears, Scott Speed, Brian Vickers, Jamie McMurray, Ricky Stenhouse Jr., Trevor Bayne, Denny Hamlin, Paul Menard, Reed Sorenson, Marcos Ambrose and more will participate. Food and beverages will be available as well as live entertainment from local artists From A Seed and country music star Rodney Atkins. The event is being supported by Best Buy and Insignia. Tickets are on sale now for $10 and will still be available at the gate. An online charity auction for the jail shirts worn and autographed by the participants and other memorabilia will go live on October 15th at 12pm ET and will run through October 22nd.
