The NASCAR Sprint Cup Series only visits Kansas Speedway once a year which makes it more difficult for the teams to get the correct set up.

Chase for the Sprint Cup contenders and former Series champions Jeff Gordon and Kurt Busch along with fellow Chaser Brian Vickers have openly discussed the challenges that face the teams as they head to the Midwest this weekend.

Chicagoland is a similar track and since Kansas is a 1.5 mile oval there are other tracks that could compare.

Homestead-Miami Speedway is another track the Series is preparing for that is only visited once a year; however, it is the last track on the schedule so mistakes there are even more costly.
