Hall Of Fame Nominees – David Pearson
Sunday, 04 October 2009 23:00

During the course of his NASCAR career, David Pearson won nearly 20 percent of the races he competed in.

The “Silver Fox”, as he was known, is second on the all-time win list with 105 Cup victories in 574 starts, Richard Petty is the only person whose win total surpasses Pearson’s.

Amazingly, Pearson managed to win three Cup championships in 1966, ’68 and ’69 but never once ran a full schedule. In ’66, he only ran 42 of the 49 races and still took the title.

He only had one victory at the Daytona 500, in 1976, but accumulated six victories at the track over his 27 year career.
