NASCAR Sprint Cup Series driver Denny Hamlin currently sits 11th in the series point standings.
His Chase for the Sprint Cup started well with a 2nd place finish at Loudon but at Dover he finished 22nd, two laps down. He rallied at Kansas and managed another top-5 finish but that is where the good luck ends.
Hamlin finished 37th at Fontana after an accident and at Charlotte last weekend he had a dismal second-to-last place finish after losing his engine.
Despite the difficulties, Hamlin is confident heading into Martinsville that even though a championship would be nothing less than miraculous at this point, he can still make it to Victory Lane.
With one win already under his belt at Martinsville this weekend is a bright spot in Hamlin’s future.
