AMP Energy 500 Qualifying Rained Out

jimmie-johnsonNASCAR Sprint Cup qualifying for Sunday’s AMP Energy 500 at Talladega Superspeedway has been rained out.

 

The cars have been impounded by NASCAR and the field for Saturday’s race will be set by owner’s points per the NASCAR rule book.

 

Jimmie Johnson will start on the pole with his Hendrick Motorsports teammates Mark Martin and Jeff Gordon starting 2nd and 3rd, respectively. Tony Stewart and Juan Pablo Montoya round out the top-five.

 

Kurt Busch will start 6th followed by Ryan Newman in 7th, Greg Biffle in 8th, Denny Hamlin in 9th and Carl Edwards in 10th.

 

The AMP Energy 500 is still scheduled to begin at 12pm ET tomorrow and will be broadcast on ABC.
