Gordon Wrangles Pole At Texas

jeff-gordonJeff Gordon won the pole for Sunday’s NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Dickies 500 at Texas Motor Speedway with a lap time of 28.255 seconds at 191.117mph in his No. 24 DuPont Chevrolet.

 

Kasey Kahne earned the outside pole in the No. 9 Budweiser Dodge with a fast lap of 28.276 seconds at 190.975mph.

 

Chase for the Sprint Cup contenders Kurt Busch and Tony Stewart will start Sunday’s race 3rd and 4th, followed by Kyle Busch in 5th.

 

Carl Edwards, Mark Martin, Greg Biffle, Dale Earnhardt Jr., and Clint Bowyer rounded out the top-10 in qualifying.

 

Series points leader Jimmie Johnson will roll off the grid 12th.kasey-kahne

 

Tony Raines, Dave Blaney, Max Papis and Mike Bliss failed to qualify for the Dickies 500.
