One was the victor and the other won in the long run.

Kurt Busch and Jimmie Johnson had two very different individual races at Texas Motor Speedway even though they were both competing in the same Dickies 500.

Kurt Busch was up front all day and came home the winner after fuel mileage got him to first place after his brother, the current race leader, ran out of fuel with only two laps to go.

Johnson, on the other hand, got taken out only three laps into the race. Despite the setback, his team rallied back to salvage whatever points they could in hopes of retaining their lead in the series standings.

In the end, both drivers won. Busch got the hat, the pistols and the Victory Lane celebration while Johnson came away with a 73 point lead over Mark Martin.
