Greg Biffle has silently been working his way up through the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series point standings. Heading to Loudon at the beginning of the Chase, Biffle was listed 12th out of the 12 Chase for the Sprint Cup drivers.
Over the past few weeks, Biffle has steadily gained ground in the standings and now sits 7th, 247 points out of 1st but only 11 points behind Juan Pablo Montoya who is 6th.
The amazing thing is that Biffle has been pretty quiet during the Chase. It seems like all the other Chasers have made headlines for one reason or another, except him. He has earned two top-5 finishes and four top-10 finishes so far in the eight Chase races and his worst finish was 25th at Martinsville, certainly not a horrible finish.
So, as the top-three NASCAR divisions head to Phoenix International Raceway, Biffle is looking to keep up the momentum and pick off a few more spots in the standings before the season ends.
As he reflects on his own Chase and some of his fellow contenders’ trials and tribulations throughout the championship hunt, Biffle has really made his voice heard and there is no doubt people will be watching his progress this weekend at Phoenix and next week at Homestead-Miami.
