richmond-international-racewayRichmond International Raceway kicked off its 5th annual charity campaigns to benefit the Central Virginia Foodbank and Toys for Tots. The month-long campaign will run from November 16th through December 18th.

"The Central Virginia Foodbank and Marine Toys for Tots are two very special programs for us here at Richmond International Raceway," RIR president Doug Fritz said.  "We recognize the need for our community throughout the year, but especially during the holiday season.  I encourage everyone to make a difference this holiday season and donate to these worthwhile programs.”

In addition to organizing the program, RIR has promised to match donations can-for-can and toy-for-toy.richmond-international-raceway

The ticket office at the track will be open Monday through Friday from 8:30am ET to 5pm ET to accept donations.

Donors will also receive one raceway souvenir for every five food items or one new, unwrapped toy donation, with a limit of five souvenirs for each donor. Also, every donor will be entered into a sweepstakes to win two tickets to the May 1, 2010 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Crown Royal 400 at RIR with pre-race pit passes.

Canned vegetables and fruits, canned meats and fish, canned spaghetti sauce, pasta, peanut butter, rice and hot and cold cereals are the most needed food items and any toy donations must be new and unwrapped.
