For Infineon Raceway’s ninth annual Thanksgiving Food Drive, the California road course donated 5,500 pounds of non-perishable food to Friends in Sonoma Helping (FISH) and the Salvation Army Vallejo Food Pantry.
This year’s donation marked the largest that Infineon has made since the drive was started in 2000. Since its inception, a total of 17,500 pounds of non-perishable food items have been donated.
Infineon was joined by four Northern California Mary's Pizza Shack locations, the Vallejo Convention and Visitor's Bureau, Sonoma Girl Scouts, Innerstave, Levy Restaurant, tenants of the Infineon Raceway Motor Sports Industrial Park, Destination RKA, Santa Rosa BMW Triumph in Windsor and Sonoma Gourmet of Cotati. A notable participant in the food drive was 19 year old P.J. Pedroncelli. Pedroncelli, who lives in Sonoma, drives in the NASCAR Camping World West Series for Pedroncelli Motorsports. "Food drives like this help to strengthen our ability to make an impact in the community," said North Bay County coordinator for the Salvation Army, Capt. Fred Rasmussen. "I would guess this food will serve at least 250 people." "I can't thank Infineon Raceway and everyone else that participated in this food drive enough," said FISH volunteer, Sherman Bielfelt. "This food is critical to the survival of many people, and I know they are very thankful." MORE NASCAR NEWS
