The third annual Performance PR Plus Driver Advancement Marketing Summit will be headlined by Kelley Earnhardt, John Bickford, Boston Reid and Michael Burch.
The two day workshop, created to help drivers learn important aspects of the business like obtaining sponsorships and marketing themselves, is scheduled for January 30 – 31, 2010 in Charlotte, NC. Earnhardt, the Vice President and General Manager of JR Motorsports and the business manager for her brother, NASCAR superstar Dale Earnhardt Jr., will offer insight into how teams choose drivers and creative ways to find sponsorships. Earnhardt, who began her career behind the wheel, has a unique and invaluable perspective on the sport.
As Vice President of Jeff Gordon, Inc., Bickford, who is also Jeff Gordon’s stepfather, was the driving force behind Gordon’s early successes on and off the race track. Over the years, Bickford has directed other young drivers in their career and will share the importance of career decisions with the drivers in attendance at the Summit. Reid, one of the drivers who was mentored by Bickford, raced in the NASCAR Nationwide Series as part of a driver development program. He will be on hand to teach the young drivers how commitment is the key to success and how off-track activities can make all the different in securing an on-track ride. The Vice President for Business Development at Speedway Motorsports, Inc., Burch will give advice on sponsorship proposals and approaching potential sponsors. These four speakers, and others who may be named prior to the event, have a vast wealth of knowledge that is priceless to the young drivers who will be in attendance.
