Jay Guy Named Crew Chief For Keselowski
Written by Lindsey Marks
Monday, 30 November 2009 23:00

jay-guyVeteran NASCAR crew chief Jay Guy will call the shots in the Cup Series for Brad Keselowski and Penske Racing’s No. 12 Verizon Dodge in 2010.

This news came just hours after it was announced that Guy would be leaving Furniture Row Racing after three years. With the Denver-based team, he has been on the pit box for the No. 78 Furniture Row car with drivers Joe Nemechek, Kenny Wallace and more recently Regan Smith.

"We wish Jay all the best," Joe Garone, Furniture Row Racing’s General Manger, said. "He is a good friend who worked hard to help bring us to where we are at. Jay was a true asset to our organization the past three years and we support him with his new opportunity."

That opportunity being the chance of Guy’s lifetime.

“I am looking forward to coming back to North Carolina and working with Brad (Keselowski) and Penske Racing,” Guy told HardcoreRaceFans.com. “Everything I have worked for in my whole life is coming together and allowing me to be involved with a first class organization. I am excited.”

With a long history in the sport dating back to the 80's when he started out with Dave Marcis and has since made the critical calls for drivers such as Jamie McMurray, Ted Musgrave and Johnny Benson, Guy has the experience needed to develop Keselowski in the Cup Series.
