Written by Kyle Davis
Tuesday, 01 December 2009 23:00

ryan-newmanOn Tuesday, December 8th the twenty-first annual Stocks for Tots holiday event will take place.  Stocks for Tots was established in 1989 to help raise awareness for child abuse prevention and parenting in North Carolina.  The idea is to collect toys and raise money while hardcore race fans mingle with over 40 current race car drivers, racing legends, crew chiefs, and other motorsports personalities.

Since the first Stocks for Tots annual holiday event it has raised over $850,000 and distributed nearly 50,000 Christmas toys to children in our area.

This year’s event will take place at the Charles Mack Citizen Center in downtown Mooresville.  Some of the stars to attend the event include: Ryan Newman, Don Miller, Ray Evernham, Erin Evernham, Sam Hornish Jr., Larry McReynolds, JC Stout, Clay Rogers, Ned Jarrett, Waddell Wilson, Justin Lofton, John Andretti, Travis Kvapil, Tommy Baldwin, Rex White, Peanut Turman, Billy Biscoe, Brownie King, Tiger Tom Pistone, Bill Mangum, Neil Castles and Lloyd Dane.

Wristbands are required for admission to the event and entry is based on wristband number.  General admission is $10 plus a new unwrapped toy.  Wristbands can be obtained on December 8th at the NC Auto Racing Hall Of Fame in Mooresville, NC as early as 9:00 a.m.

Premium wristbands can be purchased prior to the day of the event by calling 704-663-5331, and are only available through December 7th.
