Do you think you should be the “Mayor of Speedweeks 2010”?
If so, all you need to do is tell Daytona International Speedway officials “Why I Should Be Mayor of Speedweeks 2010” in 100 words or less.
Teaming up with Black Crow Broadcasting, Daytona International Speedway will award the winning writer with Pre-Race/Sprint FANZONE access for the Daytona 500, allow him or her to participate in Speedweeks 2010 Opening Ceremonies at Rolex 24 At Daytona practice, give two tickets to the Daytona 500 Experience; wave the flag at Rolex practice session to officially kick off Speedweeks; serve as an honorary judge at the Rolex 24 At Daytona Chili Cook-off competition; attend the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series Driver's Meeting; have their name announced as the Mayor of Speedweeks on the pre-race stage during the NextEra Energy Resources 250 pre-race ceremonies and be part of the Gatorade Victory Lane celebration at the 52nd running of the Daytona 500, NASCAR’s most prestigious race. Aspiring Mayors can enter their thesis by dropping it off at Guest Services located at Daytona 500 experience, or by visiting www.daytonainternationalspeedway.com/mayor. The contest began on December 15, 2009 and will run until January 8, 2010. The top three essays will be selected and posted on the venues Facebook page at www.facebook.com/DaytonaInternationalSpeedway, and Facebook fans will vote for who they feel deserves to be “Mayor of Speedweeks 2010” on the week of January 10, 2010.
