Richmond Under The Lights

richmond-international-racewayUnder the lights is where it all begins as April comes to an end for the NASCAR doubleheader at Richmond International Raceway. It all starts Friday April 30th with a full day of track activity including practice and Wawa Qualifying for the Sprint Cup Series. For the Nationwide Series we have practice and qualifying, and also the NASCAR Nationwide Series 250 that is promising some Friday night action. Tickets start out as low as $30 dollars for general admission and children under 12 get in for free with a ticketed adult, on Friday only.

 

For Saturday May first, Crown Royal Presents the Your Name Here 400 for the Sprint Cup Series that is sure to leave you on your feet for some good ole' Saturday night short track action under the lights. With ticket prices starting out as low as $40 dollars you can't miss out!

 

new-richmond-scoreboardRichmond International Raceway has made some great improvements during the off season to benefit the fans and making the NASCAR experience even more enjoyable. No more missing the wrecks or what happened when you were gone getting a hot dog as they now boast the biggest leaderboard in the motorsports world. The leaderboard is a staggering 130-feet tall with four LED video screens at the top. Each LED screen measures an astonishing 38-feet wide by 24-feet high making it possible to be seen from every seat in the house. Below the LED screens there is the LED leaderboard that will broadcast lap times, real-time running order, point standings, and other scoring functions throughout the race.

 

Not only has Richmond Internation Raceway made it easier to keep track of whos in what position or what is going on with the points during a race, but they have made the track family friendly as well. They are happy to announce they have made Family Sections that are smoke-free and alcohol-free. Also in the Family Section children 12 and under tickets are half price for Sprint Cup Races and free for Nationwide Races, with the purchase of a ticketed adult.

 

Don't miss out as it promises to be a great race with Denny Hamlin being the defending fall race winner and Jimmie Johnson going for his fifth consecutive title. Also watch out for Kyle Busch as he plans to take the win like he did at the last spring race at Richmond. It all comes down to the last lap and will you be there to see it?
