Infineon Planting Trees At Local Junior High
Tuesday, 12 January 2010 00:00

infineon-racewayIn support of NASCAR’s Green Clean Air initiative, Infineon Raceway has purchased 30 trees from Buckeye Nursery in Petaluma, CA, which is a Women’s Business Enterprise National Council-certified business.

The trees will be planted by John Cardinale of Infineon Raceway, the Mayor of Petaluma Pamela Torliatt, Petaluma Junior High School Principal John Lehmann, and Kim Bertotti of Buckeye Nursery at Petaluma Junior High on Thursday, January 14th.

In addition to supporting NASCAR’s initiative, Infineon Raceway has its own ongoing “Go Green” campaign. With its comprehensive recycling program, water conservation efforts and the use of sheep to maintain the grounds, the track has become one of the sport’s most environmentally friendly venues.

This particular program began during the Toyota/Save Mart 350 last June. The number of trees for this event was determined by the number of green flags during the race.
