Yesterday’s stage of the 2010 Dakar Rally, stage 11, took the teams from Santiago to San Juan through the Andes Mountains.

NASCAR driver Robby Gordon finished 7th in the stage, just over five minutes behind the stage winner Guerlain Chicherit of France.

Gordon remains 10th in the overall standings and trails the leader by five hours and 41 minutes with only three stages remaining.

Today’s stage will take the drivers from San Juan to San Rafael which is a long, hard trek totaling 796 km.
