After having high hopes for an overall victory in the 2010 Dakar Rally, NASCAR driver Robby Gordon is over six hours behind the leader Carlos Sainz with only one stage left.
Gordon was strong early on with a win in Stage 4 but since has encountered numerous problems including alternator issues and getting stuck on multiple occasions.
In yesterday’s Stage 13, Gordon finished 8th in the stage and maintained his 8th place spot in the overall standings. Today’s 14th and final stage will take the teams from San Rafael to Buenos Aires. Immediately following the conclusion of the Rally, Gordon and his team will head back to the stages for the SCORE International Off-Road Racing season opener in Laughlin, NV. His father, “Baja Bob” Gordon, will race his son’s truck in today’s race to get the younger Gordon a good starting spot for Sunday’s main event. MORE NASCAR NEWS
