The National Motorsports Press Association gathered in Concord, North Carolina this evening to honor the induction of NASCAR legends Robert Yates, Jack Roush, Roger Penske and Rusty Wallace into the NMPA Hall of Fame. The inductees spent some time with the media prior the ceremony, sharing memories of their careers and explaining what this honor means to them.
"To be inducted with this crowd is very special to me," Rusty Wallace said. "And especially to have everyone in the same room at the same time is really cool also."
"It's a real honor," Roger Penske said. "I would have to say that when you look across this table at the number of victories and the number of championships and the number of people that probably make up our organizations is one of the things that I look at as one of the most important factors," Roger Penske said.
The NMPA membership votes new inductees each year to the NMPA Hall of Fame which is located in Darlington, South Carolina, adjacent to the Darlington Raceway and is a must see for every hardcore race fan.
