Four Straight Years For Autism Awareness
Written by Aaron Colston
Thursday, 28 January 2010 10:19

dover-international-speedwayCome the May race weekend at Dover International Speedway, the partnership between NASCAR and the Autism Speaks organization continues to bring awareness to Autism. This year a new sponsor has joined the battle, HERSHEY’S Milk & Milkshakes.

The NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race on May 16, 2010 will carry the title Autism Speaks 400 presented by HERSHEY’S Milk & Milkshakes. The track will also display the familiar puzzle piece logo of the Autism Speaks organization on the retaining walls as well as on limited-edition souvenirs and special signage. NASCAR also encourages all three series to wear the Autism Speaks logo on their cars and trucks throughout the weekend.

"We're glad that Autism Speaks and HERSHEY'S Milk & Milkshakes see our NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race as a great opportunity to promote autism
awareness and their brands," said Denis McGlynn, president and CEO Dover Motorsports, INC.

Autism Speaks and HERSHEY’S Milk & Milkshakes are glad to join forces in bringing awareness to the disorder that little is known about. Autism has increased in the last decade with one in 110 children being diagnosed in the United States and with four times as many boys affected as girls.

"Autism Speaks is honored to again work with Dover International Speedway, and now HERSHEY'S Milk & Milkshakes, to raise awareness and funds for our cause," said Autism Speaks President Mark Roithmayr.

"HERSHEY'S Milk & Milkshakes is proud to partner with Autism Speaks and Dover International Speedway, and to have the opportunity to help generate
awareness for this important cause," said Chris Ross, spokesperson for HP Hood LLC, a licensing partner to The Hershey Company.

For over 100 years The Hershey Company has been devoted to helping children in need and is excited to sponsor the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series event.

The Autism Speaks 400 presented by HERSHEY’S Milk & Milkshakes will be aired live on FOX at 1 p.m. EST. on Sunday May 16, 2010. For more ticket
