Janelle Gleason received nearly 200,000 votes from her fellow fans to become the 3rd annual Roush Fenway Racing Fan of the Year.
Gleason, a resident of Clio, Mich., along with her father James will be VIP guests of the team for the 2010 Coca-Cola 600 at Charlotte Motor Speedway in May and she will serve as the unofficial spokesperson of the Roush Fenway Racing Online Fan Clubs for the year.
“Janelle is from Michigan, which is great since that’s Jack’s (Roush) home base, and is such a dedicated NASCAR fan and proud supporter of Roush Fenway Racing. She works two jobs and we are looking forward to giving her a little vacation from her busy schedule,” Amy Rowell, director of internet marketing for Roush Fenway Racing, said. “We are all very excited for her and her father James to come and visit us here in Concord.”
Gleason had to submit an entry to be considered for the honor and then other fans voted for her online. “I have been a fan of Jack Roush as long as I have been a fan of NASCAR Racing,” Gleason said in her entry. “I think Jack is the smartest owner in NASCAR and doesn't pick out drivers strictly on their talent but on there personalities a lot too. I have had the chance to meet all the drivers that Jack employs including jet dragster driver Elaine Larson and they all seem to truly care about their fans. I attend all events at the Roush Museum in Livonia, Michigan every year as well as attending both weeks of racing at Michigan International Speedway each season.” MORE NASCAR NEWS
