Mark Martin Captures Daytona 500 Pole

mark-martinHendrick Motorsports starts off the 2010 season strong today, clinching the front row for the 52nd Annual Daytona 500.

 

Mark Martin sat on the pole today for the Daytona 500 which takes place on February 14, 2010. He posted a fast time of 47.07 at 191.188 mph in his GoDaddy.com sponsored No. 5 Chevrolet.

 

Dale Earnhardt Jr. takes the outside pole alongside his teammate with a 47.14 at 190.913 mph in the AMP Energy/National Guard No. 88 Chevrolet. Jr. posted the fastest time during the rain shortened first practice for the Daytona 500 and backs that time up with a strong qualifying run.

 

The rest of the field will be set after the running of the Gatorade Duels which are two 150-mile qualifying races that will take place on Thursday, February 11th with coverage beginning at 2 p.m. ET on SPEED.

 

After the Gatorade Duels the field will be set for the 52nd Annual running of the Daytona 500 on February 14th, 2010. It will be broadcast on FOX with pre-race coverage beginning at noon ET and the race starting at 1 p.m. ET.
