dale-earnhardtOn Thursday, Dale Earnhardt Inc. is holding its annual Dale Earnhardt Candlelight Tribute at the DEI headquarters in Mooresville, NC. The event, which is open to the public, will feature opening and closing prayers by local ministers at 6pm and 9pm and a candlelight vigil. Those in attendance will receive a souvenir Dale Earnhardt decal and will have the opportunity to sign a guest book.

The event is a celebration of Earnhardt’s life and gives fans and friends alike the opportunity to share their memories of the 7-time champion.

Also on Thursday, the Stratosphere Hotel in Las Vegas will dim the lights on its tower to pay tribute to Earnhardt. At 6pm PST, for a full three minutes, the tower will go dark except for the Dale Earnhardt Foundation logo which will be displayed on the tower’s legs. This tribute will coincide with the closing prayer of the vigil in Mooresville.

This tribute will be the first of its kind for an athlete. Similar acts have been done for entertainers and Presidents in the past.
