Goodyear Tire officials have replaced some of the right-side tires sold to NASCAR Sprint Cup and Nationwide Series teams this weekend at the Auto Club Speedway after they showed signs of abnormal wear following Friday's Sprint Cup practice session.
This is the first time Goodyear has brought this particular right-side tire, known in the garage as a 4386, to Auto Club for the Sprint Cup and Nationwide teams. NASCAR teams have used the tire in competition at Charlotte and Las Vegas.
Goodyear replaced a total of 23 tires, 19 of which were sold to Sprint Cup teams and four sold to Nationwide Series teams. Engineers are keeping a close eye on the situation and have not taken any further action as no further tire problems have been reported. MORE NASCAR NEWS
