Juan Pablo Montoya turned a lap in 29.006 seconds at a speed of 186.168 mph to lead the first practice session for the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series drivers this afternoon at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway.

Sam Hornish, Jr. clocked in second fastest at 186.085 mph. Jimmie Johnson was third on the speed chart with Mark Martin fourth and Jeff Gordon fifth.

Ryan Newman, Joey Logano, Kyle Busch, Dale Earnhardt, Jr. and Brad Keselowski were sixth through tenth fastest.
