Las Vegas native Kyle Busch topped the first of two practice session for the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series. The two practices being the final ones for the teams before tomorrow’s Shelby American event.
Busch’s fast lap of 29.342 seconds at 184.036mph in his M&M’s Toyota Camry was good enough to take the top spot over Greg Biffle and his brother Kurt Busch in 2nd and 3rd, respectively. David Reutimann and Clint Bowyer rounded out the top-5 in the first session with Bowyer taking the top spot in the final happy hour session with a lap time of 29.42 seconds at 183.520mph.
Juan Pablo Montoya took the second spot in that practice followed by Hendrick Motorsports teammates Mark Martin and Jimmie Johnson. Marcos Ambrose rounded out the top-5. Dale Earnhardt Jr. spun his No. 88 National Guard Chevy but managed to keep it off the wall. He will start tomorrow’s race in 4th.
