Dale Earnhardt, Jr. announced he is donating $1 million dollars to the Victory Junction Camp in North Carolina, a camp for children who are battling serious illness. The donation will be used to build the The Dale Jr. Corral and Amphitheater at Victory Junction.
"There are many reasons why we wanted to get involved with Victory Junction and build this amphitheater, and it starts with the tremendous impact the camp has on these kids," Earnhardt Jr. said. The camp was founded by Kyle and Pattie Petty to honor their son, Adam, who was killed during a NASCAR practice session at the New Hampshire Motor Speedway in 2000.
Dale, Jr. said the donation is in memory of "my buddy, Adam Petty." MORE NASCAR NEWS
