Martinsville Speedway officials have announced the Virginia Military Institute Glee Club will perform a traditional version of the National Anthem prior to the start of the Goody's Fast Pain Relief 500 on Sunday, March 28, 2010.
"It’s no secret that we want the national anthem performed the way it is supposed to be performed before our events and we believe our fans appreciate that,” said Martinsville Speedway President W. Clay Campbell. “We all are going to be treated to an awesome performance of the anthem on March 28.” Fouinded in 1839, VMI is located in Lexington, Virginia and is the nation’s oldest state supported military college. The VMI Glee Club was formed in 1858 and has entertained audiences at many different venues throughout the United States.
