NASCAR's open test session at the Talladega Superspeedway, held Tuesday at the 2.66 mile Alabama track, saw a total of twenty-four Sprint Cup teams participating with more than 1500 hardcore race fans in attendance.
The all day session was conducted by NASCAR to confirm compatible gear ratios with various restrictor plate sizes using the new spoiler that will be in place when the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series return to the Talladega Superspeedway for the Aaron's 400 on April 25, 2010.
"We believe we came away here today with a good starting point and are looking forward to coming back here next month with a great race," said NASCAR Vice President of Competition Robin Pemberton at the conclusion of Tuesday's test session. NASCAR will hold another test March 23-24 at the Charlotte Motor Speedway, allowing Sprint Cup teams the opportunity to work with the spoiler on a 1.5 mile track. MORE NASCAR NEWS
