Martinsville Schedule Of Events
Thursday, 25 March 2010 09:21

matt-kensethWhile the NASCAR Nationwide Series enjoys another weekend off, the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series and the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series are heading to Martinsville, VA to take on the paperclip-shaped Martinsville Speedway.

Last weekend’s race at Bristol Motor Speedway was only the 2nd race of the season for the tough trucks and Todd Bodine bumped Timothy Peters out of the top spot in the series standings. Reigning champ Ron Hornaday, meanwhile, sits a dismal 28th after being wrecked out of both events. Jason White sits in 3rd after taking the pole for the season opener at Daytona and former teammates Aric Almirola and Kyle Busch complete the top-5.

Thunder Valley was also a tumultuous race for the Sprint Cup Series. 8 of the top-12 drivers in the standings swapped places with Dale Earnhardt Jr. and Busch working their way in and Mark Martin and Scott Speed fell out. Clint Bowyer lost 7 spots and now sits 12th. Kevin Harvick still maintains the points lead but only by one point over Matt Kenseth.
