Keyed-Up Motorsports announced today that Scott Riggs will pilot the team's No. 90 Chevrolet for the next two NASCAR Sprint Cup Series races.
"We are thrilled to have Scott in our car," team owner Raymond Key said. Casey Mears was the driver of the car for the first six races of the season. So far the team has only made one race out of the initial six races this year; they finished 30th at Bristol Motor Speedway two weeks ago. Mears only signed on to race in the first six races and is now committed to being the back-up driver for Denny Hamlin as Hamlin recovers from his ACL surgery.
“Casey is a great guy and did a good job for us,” Key said. “Both parties fulfilled the 6-race deal and parted on good terms, we have even discussed the possibility of having Casey back later this year.” Riggs has been driving the No. 09 for RAB Racing in the NASCAR Nationwide Series. He will make his first start with Keyed-Up next weekend in Phoenix. MORE NASCAR NEWS
