Phoenix International Raceway officials have named Jan Brewer, the Governor of Arizona, to serve as the Honorary Pace Car Driver for Saturday night's Subway Fresh Fit 600 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race at the Phoenix International Raceway.

Four-time NASCAR champion Jeff Gordon presented Brewer the keys to the Chevrolet Camaro Pace Car during a ceremony held at the Arizona State Capitol March 1.

"What a thrill it is to be able to drive the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series pace car," said Brewer. "As a NASCAR fan for many years, it is a special honor to be behind the wheel to start the race. I finally get to use the keys that Jeff Gordon gave me last month!"
