Speed Street, the three-day motorsports street festival held each May in Charlotte, North Carolina, will have a new location in Uptown this year. The 2010 Food Lion Speed Street begins at Fifth Street and Tryon Street and extends south on Tryon Street to Martin Luther King Boulevard. Hardcore race fans can reach the NASCAR Hall of Fame via a corrider along Martin Luther King Boulevard.
"With the NASCAR Hall of Fame opening this year, it made complete sense to move Food Lion Speed Street and enhance the fan experience with the new venue," said Jay Howard, president of JHE Production Group Inc. and event promoter and producer. "The new footprint will provide fans with a safe route along Tryon Street and Martin Luther King Boulevard to access the NASCAR Hall of Fame as well as partake in the numerous NASCAR-related activities and musical entertainment."
Food Lion Speed Street features top name entertainment, access to NASCAR drivers, sponsor displays and is a must for hardcore race fans in town for the May races at the Charlotte Motor Speedway.
Admission to the Food Lion Speed Street festivities is always free to the public with gates opening each day at 12 noon ET. The 2010 Food Lion Speed Street festival is scheduled to begin May 27. Visit www.600festival.com for more information.
