Keyed Up Motorsports #90Keyed Up Motorsports announced today the #90 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series car will run a reduced schedule for the balance of the 2010 season. The team has laid off an undisclosed number of employees with Doug Richert remaining as crew chief.

"I set out with this team to race, not start and park", team owner Raymond Key said in a statement released earlier today. "However, a reduced schedule will allow us to continue operations and focus our time on specific aspects of racing to make us stronger when we return to the track".

Casey Mears started with the team at Daytona in February and vacated the seat at Martinsville on March 27, 2010. Mears missed making the Daytona 500 after a good showing in the Gatorade Duals and also failed to qualify for Cup races at California, Las Vegas and Atlanta. The #90 team made the field for Bristol, finishing 30th. Qualifying rained out at Martinsville and without the points needed to secure a guaranteed starting position the team was forced to go home.

Scott Riggs drove the #90 at Phoenix, finishing 28th after suffering tire failure with a handful of laps remaining.

The #90 Chevrolet will not go to Texas this weekend, according to the release. Details of the next race Keyed Up plans to enter were not released.
