Reutimann And Burton Lead Dega Cup Practices

david-reutimannIn twin practice sessions for the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series at Talladega Superspeedway Friday afternoon, David Reutimann and Jeff Burton topped the speed charts.

 

Reutimann ran a fast lap of 48.249 seconds at 198.470 mph in the first practice session which put him in the top spot by only one-thousandth of a second over Regan Smith in 2nd place.

 

Jeff Gordon ended the session in 3rd followed by Burton and Marcos Ambrose.

 

Last week’s winner Denny Hamlin ended the first practice in 6th place.

 

Burton was the fastest in the second session with a 48.008 second lap time at 199.467 mph. jeff-burton

 

Brad Keselowski ended up 2nd in front of Mike Bliss and Hamlin in 3rd and 4th, respectively. Dale Earnhardt Jr. rounded out the top-5.

 

The NASCAR Sprint Cup Series will qualify Saturday at 11:30am ET for Sunday’s Aaron’s 499.
